National Design Week October 18–24 at Cooper-Hewitt NYC The People's Design Award encompasses a list of amazing examples of what is 'good design', the vote is a hard one. Nominations range from the Iphone (im figuring how that one got in there..) various product design to services to social interventions: Design Observer Group, Greengaged Initiative, Re-Nourish Website, Objectified Documentary and the great example of Medellin - once known as the most dangerous city in the world, it is now a safer place to live and a tourist destination - contemporary Colombian architects elevated the poorest areas of the city by instilling an extraordinary pride of place in the population of these once crime-ridden neighborhoods.
